I know I'm going to probably get shot for this but I really admire JK Rowling. :]

True, she isn't the best writer in the world and she didn't make me start loving to read (I loved to read way before then), but I loved her characters, her world, the way she would tie seemingly mundane and pointless things together into something very important. I just think her way of dragging the reader into her books and getting the reader involved is very admirable.

I think her writing style has a ton to improve on, however, but I still greatly admire her for her writing ability.
