HD-DVD is seriously dead. They're gone. I'm still waiting on a Toshiba press release. Well, this is great news for Sony overall business and the Ps3. Great stuff. Great win! It's also good for us consumers that now there is only format (Blu-Ray being it) instead of having two formats and confusing the consumers. Now all the manufacturers, studios etc... Can push that one format with some major maketing push.
Man, I'm telling you, some of the meltdowns over at a couple of the other forums are HILARIOUS. Oh man, I had fun reading all those meltdowns. It was a good read.

To anyone who recently bought an HD-DVD player: sucks to be you, I bet you also went with Beta :cunning:
To anyone who was recently given an HD-DVD player: at least you'll be able to buy the movies at an extreme discount soon.

Well I think that was expected..
Well I do believe that from the start sony already got the upper hand.
Sony got the PS3 as one of the main attraction for people to buy blu-ray.
People who got PS3 will automatically buy blu-ray movie format.
