Hello everyone!
I've been checking this site out for a while now and have greatly enjoyed the information shared, the debates, and the theories (no matter how crazy some may seem…) I kept thinking to myself that I really should join in the fun and make my thoughts and feelings known to the wider final fantasy community.
Just to make my views abundantly clear, Final Fantasy VII is for me, one of the greatest games ever made. In fact it was the first RPG I’d played at that fateful point 10 years ago and I recently re-bought a new copy of it as my PC version went “funny”.
The story line is as brilliantly written as it is poignant and relevant to society in general. It manages to cover life and love, pain, confusion, mental health, and what could arguably be considered “the biggie” especially in present day media, global warming and the health of the planet. Which before I played FFVII I’d never experienced as part of a game
But of course, you all know that.
The reason I am laying that background down is because every FF game I have played since then has been - although great in their own right - somewhat of a let down. However, I am highly optimistic that Fabula Nova Crystallis, and in particular VERSUS XIII, will finally fulfil my expectations and hit the same lofty heights as VII in terms of story, gameplay, and what I think is the key factor - an strong emotional conection to the characters and their plight - Something sorely lacking in XII (but that's an entirely new rant)
About me, I’m 24, am a compliance manager for Barclaycard (dull but pays the bills) and a singer-songwriter (pays no bills, but is emotionally rewarding!) avid gamer, and a massive football (soccer) fan.
I love Arsenal FC, my girlfriend, and Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, X. Probably in that order.
I’m not wanting to sound like I’m about to launch in to a tirade (might be too late :blink: plenty of time for that elsewhere) so I’ll stop here!!
