Well i dunno how i missed this:
To commemorate the upcoming US release of Final Fantasy 12, New York City has officially declared October 11 to be Final Fantasy 12 Day.
The celebrations will be held in Times Square, with the main event being a FF cosplay contest, the winners being able to meet up with people from Square at the event. Other events on the day have yet to be announced, but suffice to say they will all be FF-related.
The following day (October 12) in NYC, DigitalLife will begin, a consumer electronics show exclusive to the city. At the expo, the full, final US build of FF12 will be playable on the show floow.
Images of the day will (hopefully) be posted up here, so stay tuned for more info. Final Fantasy 12 releases in North America on October 31st and is rated T for Teen.
An actual day dedicated to it? I wish people here enjoyed games enough to be that crazy. Damn country <_<

http://www.square-enix.com/na/news/2006/ff12-contest/ I dont' feel like making a new topic.
What I posted in another topic. Square is also having a Cosplay contest in New York City for FFXII as well.
i remember when FFX was about to come out and Square did that big event in the Mall of America. I was supposed to go with my father but my mother didn't want me missing school or something equally stupid.

I live near enough to New York that I could probably get there in just a couple of hours but I don't think that i'm going to do that.

You have school trips to America? Oh yeah, for like two seconds I forgot you don't live in America. Ok... that was stupid. I wish we had trips to London. But no instead we get to go everywhere else in Europe.

I would love to go to Japan on a class trip. It would rock because my dad is such a jackass when it comes to traveling. (Getting off topic...)

You can actually get out of the country!!! All we have is an hour of bus ride and some old churches from middle age.
Going to Japan is my biggest dreams - maybe I should try the exchange student program but then my family would have to eat sand for the rest of our lives...
