FFXvsIII Gungrave-Esque?

I dont know why but as soon as I saw images and trailers of FFXvsIII I was reminded of Gungrave.
Now I really hope the story unfolds to be as deep as GG, as both seem to be having friendship and bonding issues, and I hope there will also be betrayal.
Plus having cars in a FF game is totally thumbs up.

Well with the absurd amount of blasting from guns, I see the similarity. But I can say that just about any Final Fantasy is usually more deep than an anime, including GG. I liked the GG story, but I find FF would pretty obviously beat it out in story due to the sheer mass of story there usually is. Just with the bits of info we're given and the scans, I have a feeling it will be quite deep. There isn't any hard facts as to why it will be deep, just a feeling I have with looking at all these things put together that Versus will be a damn good game.

While I'm a fan of GG, beneath it I really think its just another revenge killing story that played it up a bit by having the protagonist and antagonist as best buddies back in the day before things went south. I would hope Versus will be better played out than that. It's a good anime. Neon Genesis Evangelion is deep, GunGrave, not quite so much.

I've never played the game, but from what I've seen, it's mindless button mashing and occasionally moving your thumb half an inch to jump. I hope not. Besides, they said it's gonna be less "hack 'n slash than DoC"

Im sorry but you made no sense whatsoever.
Gungrave is not a game(Although it might have a game, Im referring to the anime series), and Im comparing the series story to what might be FFXvsIII's story.

And as FFXvsIII's battle system is gonna be like KH, its prolly gonna be a button mash game.

My bad.
I wasnt aware that the anime was based on the game.
Nonetheless, Im referring to the storyline and not the actual gameplay.
And I would personally like to have a near-end opening(like the trailer battle scene - playable) to the game and then having it go back to the actual beginning, as in the Gungrave(anime) story and the way its built.

And I have to say that personally I think that Gungrave is one of the greatest anime series Ive ever seen.

If thats just your personal analysis after watching the trailer, I'm afraid its likely you're wrong.
I'm not disapproving your judgment since there have not been that many official details surrounding the games story yet, but from what I've seen/heard there is no such thing as either character in the game having friendship and/or bonding issues..
