I'd prefer a remake provided it were done properly. I am struggling to think of any possible storylines based on anything already in the game (none of that making new stuff up and pretending it was always there crap) beyond further exploring Laguna's story or maybe some random game where you have a party of SeeDs and go on missions. I like where the game ended so I don't want them to try and expand on that in a movie.
Same here. Actually playing as a SeeD group would be pretty neat, but they would probably make it for JP Mobile Phones just to piss us off. But yeah, if they were to make anything related to FF8 it should be a spin-off, a remake or a prequel. A sequel just.... wouldn't work >.<

It would be nice if they did make a movie.However sometimes it's best to leave great games alone instead of making $hitty game movies just to make money.

I would support it..if it stayed close to the story as possible.

It would be great to see a remake on the PS3.Yet I could imagine it happening for FF7 and not for eight.Since FF7 is much more popluar I guess.

I would love all to buy all of the crap released in the name of FFVIII. Movies, sequals, prequals, spin-offs, limited edition shiny stuff, etc.

As long as it's released near me, and I don't have to travel to JP to get in, I will buy it. FFVIII remains one of my favourite games among all times.

Final Fantasy VIII is as finished as it gets though people who don't even use their brains to put together things wouldn't think so. No remake whatsoever for me. It's just a cheap more-weirded-up intended imitation of an Amano Final Fantasy game. No sequels either.
I can't say much about VII. It's not my favourite but I'd say an anime would suit it (with Cloud and his hair and all). It looks strange since his hair in VII was longer than in AC.

FFVIII is by far my favourite so I'd love a remake. I doubt it will happen, but sequel wise, there were actually a few loose ends they could probably work with;

- Rinoa's a Sorceress and her boyfriend's the Commander of a military faction set to kill all sorceress'. Rebellion, anyone?:rolleyes:
- The way people normally control the Lunar Cry went totally wrong, so now there's monsters everywhere.
-They could draw something from the fact that SeeD is a school that teaches kids to kill. Just think of the psycological horror that could be implimented from that.

And if all else fails they could just pull something completely random out of their arses like they did for Advent Children. Well, it'll never happen anyway :'(

A remake's more likely, though. I bet that SE will eventually remake the first 9 games. In, like, 10 years or something, but eventually...

id like a remake of VIII just cause even now im still playing VIII regularly cause its a great game xD as long as they donttry making a random piece of shit shooter using squalls gunblade like they made Dirge of Cerberus, then i could care less what they do with it xD though a sequel would be difficult they could pull it off with the right devos for it. but remake is prolly as far as FFVIII will ever get.

Well, so far, there have been remakes made for FF 1-4 and you can bet that there will be remakes for 5 and up ( especially with 7 to consider). I hope that the remakes ( if it's done) for 7 and on would be on either the PSP or PS3 consoles.

No, no, no, no, no. After seeing the ups and downs (mostly downs) of Final Fantasy VII's Compilation, I am strongly against the idea of a remake or movie for this game. I like it as is and I don't know how or what they would do with it.

SE didn't fail with FF movies in my opinion. AC was really great ( watched it a hundred times on my PSP and I still love it). FFVII: The Last Order ( Anime ver., 30 min, events in CCFFVII) was ok even though I don't know if you can consider it a movie with its duration. The Spirits Within was pretty good ( even though it focused more on sci-fi than fantasy).

FFVIII is probably my favorite of all FF's... I personally don't think I'd want a movie for it, I'd of course probably get it if they did though. I just don't want them to mess with story as much as they did with VII. I don't think FFVII: Advent Children was bad... but it could have been better?
A remake would be nice though... but I doubt that they would remake it before VII, just because it is more popular. LOL I could almost see hardcore FFVII fans rioting over FFVIII being a remake before FFVII. XD

I don't think the game would really gain anything graphically from a remake, because its already beautiful. The FMVs in the game are all stunning and because there are so many of them during the storyline, a remake wouldn't really bring any extra glory to the title.

I'd rather see VI or VII remade, and VII CAUTIOUSLY.

Why make ANOTHER FFVII movie?

All Advent Children had was flashy fight scenes and nice CG, nothing more really.
Honestly the way I would've done it is:

-DoC the movie

-and no movie at all for Advent Children or AT LEAST a ps2 remake or something

Definitely, DoC had mostly great cut scenes and enough to make a movie out of (since game play wasn't all that great). If you ask me AC and DoC should've switched.

Kinda hard to shove all that story into a movie, and there isnt that much to improve on if they did a look into what happens after. remake would be cool, just for the fact itd be upgraded graphically. would give me even more reason to play a game that i already think is awsome.

Final Fantasy VIII is my favorite in there series so far and I would love to see a remake of the game. Now for the movie, the game had good ending and I wouldnt see how they could continue but possibly a movie remake of events within the game?

What could be fun would be a well done manga/comic book series about Laguna before the game. I'm afraid that any spin off games would not be good enough or hold up to the feel of FFVIII. As for a movie...MAYBE it could be done right, but I don't want anything after the game. The game had a pretty good ending, in my opinion, so I don't want them messing that up.

So pretty much...I want more Laguna. Maybe even some kid-Squall. I want something filled with details and stuff we didn't know, sprinkled with things we did know

Sadly, I doubt either will happen since it's hated in general, outside of Japan. I would love to see at least a movie..A sequel would be cool, but I don't want Junctioning in it..it's evil.

If they remade it the original FFVIII, I'd actually be happy if they removed it there, and put in a more FFIX like system for abilities..the summons could work the same with Auto Abilities, but otherwise..no.

It's the ten year anniversary of Final Fantasy VIII in September right ?

Hopefully they will do something to celebrate it. Kind of 50/50 about it though. It could be cool to see a FF 8 movie like AC. But worried that they will change the story and character too much like AC.

Though hope that they will do something to celebrate Eight.

I'd like to see a VIII movie, like one set in the near future not long after the sorceress is defeated, similar to advent children except not have squall revert back to his anti-social self x3 like cloud did, have him happy and maybe...married to Rinoa? But I don't know what the whole purpose of the movie would be though, can there even be a villain stronger than the sorceress for them to beat in this particular world anymore? And how would they do it without looking drastically similar to AC? It could be just a short view of what theyre life is like after the world becomes peaceful again...but that would be kind of boring the fans wouldnt want that....

I guess they would be better off doing a remake.

Nah I think this game should be kept as it is. one of the only reasons I liked it was because it had a similar feel to FF7 and FF9 with the world map and battle system. But other than that it wasnt that great. Had a corny story line with the whole "orphan thing". And the GF system sucked. Made battles too easy.

If they made a remake, I'd hope it was a good one. As long as they kept it the same as the PS1 version, only with voices, I'd be pretty happy.

Should they make a movie? No. I liked Advent Children, but just because it was all fanservice, not because it was an amazing movie.

Now, if they don't make a remake, which they probably never will, I wish they'd at least redo some scenes with cutscenes and voices. Or at least put more of those characters like Zell, Laguna, and Quistis in a game like Dissidia or online.

Honestly, I just want a remake for the voices, but yet I'm afraid they'd mess up. :(

A movie fo FFVIII would suck cock, I mean, completely and utterly, but a remake would be good if they kept the storyline and remade the entire gameplay system. Got rid of the way GF's work, and the draw points bullshit that just slowed the game WAY down. The love story could probably be toned down a bit toward the end where it begins to get a bit unbearable, but other than that stuff not much else needs changing really.

Couldn't agree more. Also, I'd like to see the magic system played around with a little bit if it were to be remade. I'm not saying get rid of the current system, but please, oh PLEASE, don't make me draw for hours on end to be able to get a decent stock of magic to raise my stats.
