My "name" is Bleak Harvest -- born and bred long-haired Englishman, living in America right now. Married to an American Woman (cue music) who has more games than I do, including all her NES games to go along with the console itself! Yeah, I picked a good one. Here to talk gaming hopefully without the fanboys and morons who flood just about every other forums. Currently own PSX, PS2, GBA, GC, WII, DS LITE. Working on a PS3 and PSP, but I'm not made of money.

Favourite game? Shadow of the Colossus, followed shortly by MGS3:SE. My favourite series, though, is easily the Blood Omen/Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver franchise. Too bad we won't see more. Favourite RPG, easily FFXII. I know it had a lot of haters, but man was it a relief from the Tidus, Cloud and Squall clones (Vann not withstanding). And seeing as we're talking Final Fantasy, my favourite male character is Basch, favourite female is Ashe. Read into that anyway you will, but I had little choice in the matter -- it was all Matsuno's fault. Sydney Losstarot would beat them both, if he were an FF character, though.

Love film, literature and music -- especially metal. Like the occasional pint of Guinness or bottle of sake on a cold winters day. Currently a Japanese major with an English minor, so I'm looking forward to using my newly acquired skills around these here parts.

Ahhhh~ Japanese major! >___< So good to see you~ May I ask what year Japanese student you are? I imagine you might know a bit more Japanese than I do.

I'm not exactly sure how I ended up as site translator, but I am in no way any definition of "fast." ^^; I'd love to talk new scans with you though.~

I've got a solid understanding of what I've gone through so far, so who knows how quickly I'll advance now all the basic stuff is done. I came into this subject knowing very little, but already feel good about it. I'll keep admiring your work until I can talk on par with you :nod:

If you study hard and practice every day, I think you'll find that you can read the kinds of articles I translate surprisingly well. ^_^

Because they tend to be game magazines aimed at all ages, they usually avoid extremely difficult kanji and sometimes even provide furigana.

I'll be going into the second half of official second year classes, but I've been reading for a little longer than that on my own. ^^ Practice outside of class makes all the difference.

*sniff* i never got to learn japanese in my school... they dont teach it here.... anyway... at least they teach art classes of japan though :D "Turning Japanese" yay!!! I'm taking that :D

I love Shadow of the Colussus too, but gave up during the last Colussus fight. Not beacuse it was hard, but because I just lost all interest in the PS2.
