Battle system you respect

Because there's a "Battle system you expect" thread for the Versus forum. What game's got your favorite battle system ever? ^___^

How horrible of you to make a topic and not post what system is your favorite! But anyway this may be difficult for me since the only reason I play many games is for their systems. Thousand Arms battle system was superb and the same can be said for Baldur's Gate. Knights of the Old Republic would get a mention if it wasn't just Baldur's Gate made simpler; love the battle animations in KoToR. I still need to try Temple of Elemental Evil and I haven't gotten around to opening Breat of Fire V which I hear has an amazing battle system (not mentioning the SOL).

I think I'll pick the battle system of KH2 and Devil may cry 3. Choose between the 2 its Devil may cry 3. Best I have seen and I got so addicted to it in the first time I played. I even repeated mission 3 so many times without going further than that then I managed to raise my red orbs to the max. The battle system is so awesome

I'd probably have to say Legend of Legaia. I love fighting games, I love RPGs and the battle system for that one sort of combined them. There's a bunch more that stand out for me, but that's the one I'm going with.

I didn't originally put down any games because almost all of my collection is turn-based RPGs. And as pretty as they can be, they really don't tend to be shockingly different in terms of battle system. :lol:

But now that I think about it, I played older games that weren't purely turn-based RPGs. I had years worth of fun and got many kicks out of Super Smash Brothers Melee. Totally not suitable for an FF, but pretty damn fun. And the most recent shooter I have played and liked is GoldenEye on the N64. XD (Dirge of Cerberus not included)

I have to say, I had tons of fun playing KH2. The triangle button thingy was a great idea, in my opinion, and while everything looked complicated, really it was all just one or two buttons with more timing than having ro recall combinations. KH being one of the only recent things I've played with a battle system that can be called an action battle system, I wasn't sure if I was just impressed with whatever because I didn't know any better. XD

well i like the original turn based battle system like in the ff series and fast pasted battle like dmc, when u do what ever movers u like to hundreds of enimeis single handed.

I liked the Battle system in Final Fantasy XII. It was...different for a change.

I respect the battle system from the Shadow Hearts series. It actually provides a challenge by having the press the button at the right time.

Wooo I'm with you there! Legaia was the best game ever :) My second would be Tails of Symphonia :D

Wooo I'm with you there! Legaia was the best game ever :) My second would be Tails of Symphonia :DI kinda liked Legaia's battle system. But its still the alternate attacks so i don't really adore it that much. How about God of War? It was one of the best and has a bit of reaction buttons

FFX for me. I like the strategic type battle systems. I liked KHII's a lot aswell.
