Final Fantasy Versus XIII Main Characters name -- Oji?
FF13 Vids have done a little rundown of all the Final Fantasy stuff so far at the Square Enix party. In their desciption of the Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailer which is "the same as JF06" they mention that Oji who returns between the crystals from fight, the fair-hair which wears the white hood" this is to do with the scene at the end of the Square Enix party trailer where the main character fights a man in a white hood.

This isn't definate for sure, and I don't know if Oji is just a bad google translation xD but the way they use it to decribe him seems like it might be his name. Read their decription and decide for yourself:

"New image adds to the image of JF07
Oji who returns between the crystals from fight, the fair-hair which wears the white hood (only the mouth and the rear form it is visible there)
With the scene which Oji of steep expression, it tries it will stick and to change him image end."

Sorry with my last post I actually wanted to say Ouji-sama is also a way to address a prince (obviously) instead of calling is his name. Just like you address teachers in Japan with sensei (bad comparisson but couldn't think of any better) so his name is 99% not Ouji.

Man vs Self **

Man vs others

And so on, the one I starred is the one I think will play a major role. Stories where the biggest enemy is oneself tend to be quite interesting, add that to the external things the characters will have to face and you've got one heck of a story. This is all basic story writing concepts, shame on those of you who don't pay attention in english class.

anime cliche's i.e alter egos

damsel in distresses are common practice in games and films alike...it often causes frustration to the person watching or playing the game(to me anyways) there doesn't seem to be progress when you gota help a helpless character

i guess that would true.It wouldnt be right to call him something like Freddie to be honest 1.it wouldnt suit him and 2.it just totally ruins the co-ordination between the game themes,character and its darkness

Square usually picks a name that said something about the character has goes with a theme, example: Sora, Cloud, Squall, all haveing to do with the sky.

If it's a more refined enemy, like the royalty or noble of another country they might still call him Prince, but if it's rouge enemies like small factions, they'll call him by name.
