He makes a good point, but why not just close the intro thread if it gets spammed, most people never post again anyway...<_<

I don't think people should anymore. They make them and then just leave. What's the point?

But that wouldn't stop the Spam... Alphonse.

----Yeah, it should never count. Introductions standardly last a day. Then there are idiots, I won't name, who revive the threads with stupid posts.

I never once posted in the section. Shows how useful it is. No one cares if you are new or not. Just make worthwhile posts.

I would not go that far. I like it when people introduce themselves instead of just posting one day, but unless you actually going to be an active member, then don't make a damn intro thread.

I like my post count rising every time I make a spam post in there. <3

Who cares it's just a post count. Just get rid of the entire post count system.

There's nothing wrong with the section, just the people who post in it.

Most of the "idiots" seem to be posting in this thread complaining about idiots who spam . Does everyone have amnesia?

Why remove the post count system? If someone is spamming to boost post count then apart from being a sad person they will be moderated. Whatever happens, You aren't your post count.
All bumped introduction threads will be closed. I haven't been moderating too much lately because I've moved to uni recently but I'll concentrate on it more from now on.

If you just give me the mod power we wouldn't be having this problem.

Why remove the post count system?
I just don't see any point in it really. And if it causes problems, eliminate the source.

I just thought of a brilliant idea...Instead of making new members introduce themselves, we introduce them. Once a week a designated person (someone reliable) makes a post in the topic.

That would be dumb because theyre too stupid to recognize it^
Unless if its via PM.

Umm, no, that would be kind of weird. Pretend you just signed up and the next thing you see is someone else introducing you even though they don't know you at all whatsoever. And you have the intention of leaving right after making an account. Which is what a lot of people do. So then we'd end up with a pile of threads for people that never posted, which really makes no sense.
I haven't seen any other forum that has everyone else introduce a new member, either...

Then what the hell are we suppose to do??

I have to agree. That would end up with even more spam which is exactly what this thread is trying to get rid of. Although I'm happy people are making suggestions to improve the forums I have to say that it's such a small problem it isn't worth sorting out until it gets out of control.

So we should just leave it for now... huh?

Yeah, its not worth caring about. If people care THAT much about their postcount they need to find something better to do. :cunning:

But Shouldn't we atleast get some kind of an idea about what we are going to do when the time actually comes?
