September 28, 2007 - During this summer 2007, the international living rooms will have been as numerous as the advertisements will have been rare. If one were to give a progress report on the revelations resulting from E3 (July, in the USA), Games Convention (August, in Germany) and Tokyo Game Show (September, in Japan), not sure that there would be what to leap of his armchair. A new PSP Slim & Light, the exit of X360 Elite and the tariff fall of the other versions of X360, or advertisement of the pad Dual Shock 3 of the PS3, here is in substance the advertisements manufacturers. Without forgetting the interrogations around the supposed fall obviously - and waited - price of the PS3, which was simply concretized by the replacement in the USA of the pack 60GB (sold for the circumstance 500$) by a pack 80GB coming to replace old while beginning again until its price: the famous 600$ considered to be too high by considerable actors of the videoludic scene, to start with editors who hopelessly await a fall in the price of the PS3 to see their expensive productions being sold. Editors who go even sometimes until tancer Sony on the subject: Ubisoft, Eidos and Square (to quote only them) for example still recently firmly gave an opinion in favour of a fall in the price of the PS3. Without success for the moment…
"Indeed, it seems that the dated October 12, 2007 one was chosen by Sony to make an enough important advertisement to be qualified in-house “big-bang”…
Sony will thus have benefitted from no go international to announce this famous fall of price, on which all the speculations run since long months already, relayed in that by the opinions of financial analysts increasingly many to predict a reduction of 100$ of the price of the PS3. For as much, Sony really plans T it not to lower the price of its console before the festivals of end of the year? One could think it, insofar as - the advancing calendar - it seems that the manufacturer let pass all the good occasions to announce the news. However, nothing is less sure. Indeed, it seems that the dated October 12, 2007 one was chosen by Sony to make an enough important advertisement to be described asin-house “big-bang”. They are specialized retailers close to the manufacturer who entrust the news to us, that he is obviously necessary to take with the tweezers of use. Nevertheless, if one wants to wonder well which event made in Sony would have enough width to act as “big-bang”, one quickly comes from there to imagine the return of the revenge on the fall on the price on the PS3. A fall which would thus intervene right before the exit of PES 2008 in particular, which one knows from now on that it will be also sold in a bundle PS3/PES. A pack which should make devastations, and which one does not know yet the price [edict: some evoke already a bundle with 449€!]. As it is strange…
Does a PS3 finally drop some and October 12, 2007 to be marked of a red cross? Perhaps, even if one remains for the moment in the field of the speculation. What is less speculative on the other hand, they are the last figures of sale of the PS3 and X360 on the French ground. Because coincidence sympathetic nerve, Microsoft and Sony France all two have just communicated on the sales of their respective consoles in France. What currently gives us: a park of 430,000 X360 installed in France (the console left in December 2005), against right now more than 200,000 “sold” PS3 if one believes president George Fornay of it (for a PS3 left in March 2007). Where it is understood that in spite of its puffing starting, the console of Sony unrelentingly makes up for its lost time on its Microsoft competitor, no matter what one thinks about it. Good moment to give a blow of accelerator before Christmas… via a fall of price?
What do you guys think, could it be the 40GB PS3 as rumoured for the past 2 months?
