Final Fantasy Melody XIII

If you haven't read the rumour yet, basically a Korean site has come across a logo for a new game for the XIII compilation they claim Square will announce at TGS and it's apparently a PS3 exclusive. Here's the logo:

I for one think it's fake. First of all, if this was a real game Square would have patented it like all their other titles but if you search the US Patent office for Final Fantasy XIII all that comes up is Agito, Versus and Haeresis.

I'm not sure about this one because I'm not an expert on Amano's art but the logo itself also seems to be a rehash of some of his older non-Final Fantasy related pieces.

I dunno, looks fake, but I will wait 'till TGS. I doubt they would announce ANOTHER game, they already have enough to do.

I think it's fake as well. For one thing, the logo seems a bit too big compared to other titles logos (exclusing FFXII of course), plus it just feels kind of different. If you compare it to the other logos it seems to have a different sort of feel to it.

Also, the 'Melody' part looks a little off to me, like it was typed in over an image of the logo. The only credible thing is the Japanese text below, but I guess anyone could type in some Japanese text. Oh, and unless Melody is also a Latin word like Versus is, then it goes against the latin theme a bit.

Yeah, the logo looks odd in itself compared to the others. But I want to wait and hear what's going on before deciding it's fake or not.

Another reason why its fake, is because the JP text at the bottom of the title says "ファイナル　ファンタジー　きょく XIII" when its supposed to be "ファイナル　ファンタジー　メロディー　XIII"

Maybe they want to do something different for once? It does look a little dubious and why would Square release another one when they're already working on three? :blink:

Seen something similar to that in Amano's Prints book. Must be a hoax: Amano goes for more colour on FF. Could be that someone's looking for media attention on the other side of the world and created that because they know no one's gonna be able to translate. Also, I read that there're three titles to FNC Compilation. But this gaming magazine I'm reading says "... of the three that have been announced" so... I doubt this new supposed title is valid.

I actually have Amano's prints. But I haven't seen that one. It's definitely his though. But the one thing that gives it away, is the coloring. Amano never uses that type of coloring for a logo. They're always white pics outlined in usually green, purple or blue.

even if it's Amano's artwork I don't think it's possible to use such an old artwork for a new game plus the word..Melody werent they going to use all words in Latin? or am I wrong?:cunning:

if anything those guys should've faked the haeresis logo, it would probably be more believable since square-enix has a trademark for it.

I think it's a fake, it looks too much like Amano's older pieces as shown above to be original work by him.

And since when did SE make a logo for a FF game with a dark background?

I'm not buying this at all.
