In the center of Per-Perel was once a large expanse of forest now cleared away to host a flat land of research buildings. Spreading outwards from the inactive volcano in the center, the buildings - like gray legos studded with simple rectangular windows - are a buzz of research activities concerning the winged specimen found within. Although military personnel are strictly prohibited from entering the area, a ring of highly fortified guard towers enhanced by natural mountain terrain protects the interior.

Sneaking through a high security area, Tigersura had found, was surprisingly easy. Having been ordered to find interesting information inside the large complex instead of getting to go home had annoyed him, but he was assured that he would be payed extra. Although the outside was plagued with hundreds of guards, equipped with heat sensitive goggles, to weed out the nano-suits, auto-locking weapons, to catch out the jumpy ones, and high-capacity melee weapons to take out the burly ones, he had managed to get in the most cliché way imaginable. He snuck in with a laundry basket. Diving into the open back of the delivery van as it drove through the main security gate, he was sure it would simply buy him some time. However, the soldiers were none the wiser, preferring to simply check the drivers ID and allow him through. The van backed graciously into a supply depot on the west side of the futuristic complex, and darting out of the van as the guards walked around to speak to, he maneuvered his way through the dark, metallic corridors.
Continuing to creep through the dark hallways, lit only by a slight blue ambiance glowing from the occasional long, thin ceiling lamp, Tigersura tried to find some decent information to take back. He had stumbled upon a small room of filing cabinets, and upon opening one, finding only information regarding the placement of secret embassies within each state of the civilized regions. "Nothing new here," he thought. Gurei Ambassadors trained with the same skills as that of a spy or secret agent had been placed in inconspicuous, monochrome dwellings in major cities for years, and although the official report was they were retired members being treated with class, everyone knew not to trust them.
It was as he was reading this report when suddenly a man entered the room. He was small, with glasses and short, fuzzed brown hair. "Shit" Tigersura muffled. His time was up. This man would surely recognize the fact that he didn't belong here, and try to run off and report him. Reaching slowly to his pistol, the man walked closer to him. He could see that the scientist, as he walked into the white light of the filing room, was smiling. Whatever reason this was for, his happiness wouldn't last long. Just as he was about to draw his gun and "incapacitate" the scientist, he spoke.
"This is great, isn't it? Just fantastic! The break we've been looking for for, god i don't know how long its been!"
Tigersura was taken back by this. Trying not to seem too surprised, he used his FPR training to work in this situation.
"Ah, i wish i knew what you were talking about, but," he moved his left hand towards the scientist "Mark Fithe," the scientist met his handshake with a weary grip "I've been out in the grasslands outside Neguro for a few months now, only just got back to my office. Can't wait to find out what this great discovery is!"
The scientist gazed skeptically. "Well, uh, if you want to find out, go talk to Candice in Central Lab D"
Crap he thought I've got to find my way through more of this metal maze.
"Lab D...heh, wheres, uh, wheres that?"
"You work HERE, where the best discoveries are made, and you don't know where Lab D is?"
"Heh, yea... I uh, work more in paper work. The field work i did was mandatory."
Come on, you might be smart, but you can still buy this bull...
"Right, well, head past the subject quadrangle, take a right at the junction, head down the steps, and its the first lab on the right. Its underground, so you'll have to take the lift from there"
"Alright, cool thanks. Hope to see you some other time"
"Alright then." He reached into a filing cabinet. Taking out a light brown folder, he began to head towards the exit. Quickly drawing his cutlass, Tigersura grabbed the man around the torso and calmly slashed through the mans throat. Throwing the corpse between the wall and a cabinet, he left the room, returning to the dark corridors, and headed towards what he hoped would earn him his pay.

“I don’t give a shit whether you stick that thing at me as long as it’s not up my vagina,” Candice said sarcastically. She shuffled a little as the gun pressed harder against her back. There was no room for her to suddenly engage in celerity. Given the fact that the person behind her had snuck in all the way to her area – she didn’t want to try anything to risky.
“Tell me, Candice, the currently secret research operations being carried out in this facility.” The voice was commanding; it seemed professional – hired for a high pay, and impatient to any more sarcastic jokes she would try and throw his way. Even if she did engage celerity, she doubted whether she could escape him.
“Go ahead and stick it up my pussy, then,” she laughed in dry humor, before suddenly jumping in surprise as a bullet banged – hard – into the floor. She kept her head still as her eyes rolled up to look at the floating security camera next to the ceiling; hopefully the guards would come soon enough. As if the man behind her could read her thoughts, he pressed the gun more roughly against her back. She stumbled forward at the sudden force. “Who are you?” Maybe changing the subject would help.
“The man who will kill you if you don’t tell me what’s going on here.” A hand grabbed her neck, swinging her around; she could glimpse his shoes as she swerved to the side. “What’s in there?!” Suddenly, she was facing the black glass screen. She cursed herself silently for not shutting down the area after the alarm went off. Why was she so obsessed with her research?
Before she could answer, she was pushed against the data counter in front of the black screen. The hand on her neck disappeared for a moment, before reappearing next to her. No! Don’t find it! The moving leather glove shuffled around, before pressing the on switch near the top of the counter. The black screen suddenly flickered to life. She could feel the man’s ribcage suddenly expand against her back as he gasped a surprised intake of air. Now what would – what could she do?
In front of them was a humongous circular area – near 20 feet in diameters – with something of a humongous rock in the center. Gigantic diamonds protruded from the dark ore, and black wires and tubes swerved in from a variety of dynamic angles to anchor themselves in the center. A naked female form was encased within the solidified volcano earth.
“Holy shit…” The gun relaxed for a moment. The free hand disappeared from her sight. He was taking a picture! She swerved around to stop him. A surprisingly young face looked back at her.
“No! Don’t!” It was too late. A small click occurred from the thumb-sized camera attached to his finger. “No! Give it to me, bastard!” She reached for his glove –
“Candice Yuri! Candice Yuri!” the intercom on the ceiling shouted. “Stay where you are. There is an intruder who has already killed Doctor Cid within the premises! Lock the facility down!” She refocused on taking the picture back –
“Ugh…” Blur. She could feel herself being thrown over his shoulder, before being speeded out of the room.
