Yes. Install the same way you would with the PS2. The expansion packs (and game itself) are hard to find though due to many being out of print.

The original North American version that comes with the PS2 HDD (only PS2 version out) comes with the Rise of the Zilart expansion. Chains of Promathia and Treasures of Aht Urhgan are wise choices to pick up. Not including Wings of the Goddess near the end of the year.

The game is old as hell itself so you can always just get it for PC. 3.99 USD with all the expansions because of the fifth year anniversary.
You only lose out on the Amano cover art.

Its hard to control on the PC. I'll just search for the PS2 version on Amazon.

How can you say that if you haven't played it . If you're gonna buy it I'd always advise to buy it with the expansion packs because they make the game much more fun and without them you're sort of restricted.

Best to connect a controller to your PC if you don't enjoy the PC controls.

A little difficult to explain since it can get technical. Basically you choose your main job, and level it. Then you have your sub job where you have to individually level that. But no matter what level either jobs are, your sub job will always be half the level of your main job. So you get certain abilities from the sub job depending on its level. Its basically used for job combinations. Like having a 10 Warrior/ 5 White Mage. You get advantages and disadvantages with all the different combinations you can choose. Such as with the one I just said, your warrior can use white magic to heal himself, but he'll probably only be able to use a severely weakened cure two or three times. If you want to really get into it, go to gamefaqs. There are really good guides about subjobs.
Anyway. Getting that game on the playstation would seem like a hassle for me. You have to buy a seperate keyboard just for the playstation to use the chat function. I dont know where you'd get that, Best Buy I suppose. I've never seen one of them before though, not to mention that would be the only game you would probably use that for. I'm used to the PC version, but its up to the person. In any case, when I got it, I got the Vanadiel Pack or something like that. It had the original game with Chains of Promathia and Treasures of Aht Urgan for like $35 or something. I got it for that at Best Buy about a year ago. Its a good package...although I wouldn't know. I dont play it very often and I'm nowhere near through the original games storyline.

I'm not sure what to tell you on the PS3 version because I have this game on Xbox360. I've never played it on anything else. My computer would die if I tried. u.u
Personal experience, I highly recommened it, though it isn't for everyone.

The PS2 version would cost you a pretty penny BUT with the release of the vana d'iel collection pack for it you don't need to shell out for a harddrive bundle though you still would need a HDD if playing on PS2 (PS3 already has one). Haven't picked it up myself so I can't be sure totally.

The game is over five years old. If your PC is older then that you may have more problems on your hands.
edit: Someone said that the collection for some reason does not work for the PS3 currently.

There are always constant updates for the game and my comp isn't horrible but I'm sure it doesn't have enough RAM for it. I need more RAM...and I have no money to get more. u.u

I currently went back to the PS2 version on my PS3. It looks like poop, lagged, and froze on me like the good old days. Really just play the PC version with a controller.
