This is turning out VERY nicely.
They make Snake a unlockable character, added Ike from Fire Emblem and he uses the sword Ragnell, He also gets his godly like skill Aether.
They added a couple cool maps, The Bridge of Eldin from LOZ: The Twilight Princess, Castle Seige for Fire Emblem, and a cool new DK map.
They added a new mine, called the gooey bomb, which sticks to people as well as walls, ceilings & the ground. The cool thing about this one is that the mine can be transfered by touch. They added a Cracker Launcher which launches fireworks & a new thing called Pitfall which makes a pitfall under the player who gets hit.
All in all, with this and Metroid Prime: Corruption, the Wii is going to get some damn good games this year.
SSBB releases December 3rd of this year.

AWESOME!! I was wondering how they'd pull out that Aether though.... make him jump super high into the air and come down slashing at enemies?
...And he better have his Lord clothes on....I hate his Ranger clothing.... <_<

I'll most likely get this game. I've always been a fan of the SSB series.

I am looking very forward to Super Smash but I believe like the first two I won't actually buy it. Since most of the fun comes from multiplayer and at the moment I don't own a Wii (even then) playing with my friends would be what I normally do. Gives me a reason to drive out to the county as well.

Uh, it does. Now it does not have many games with online play and use stupid overly complicated friendcodes but it does have online play.
Super Smash may not though. I am too lazy to check and only remember that online battles weren't mentioned at all during E3.

New character: The Pokeyman Trainer
I'm not sure about this, it'd be pretty fun switching them round a load but it's a little bland, just "Pokemon trainer". Also what if, say, Squirtle uses a pokeball and a Squirtle comes out? Still, more characters are always good. The best thing that could happen to Brawl right now IMO is for Sonic to be announced as a character a few days before launch. Doubt it'll happen, even though some guy who made Sonic or something said he would like to see Sonic in an SSB game...
EDIT: Just to clarify, basically he stands in the background and switches between three pokemon with completely different stats (although they keep damage %)

I wish the pokeman trainer has the girl as the alternate outfit. And why only three pokemon? Six was pretty much the required number.

This game should be pretty fun. The Wii has some pretty good games coming out such as: Metroid, Mario, SSB, and I think mario Kart was announced but i'm not sure. After this year I wonder what the Wii will have. It seems to be focusing more on Party games than actual good games, I think the Mario olympics game could be good, but the Wii really won't have that many good games coming out.
All in all, this year should be good for Wii owners but I'm still glad I got a PS3 over this.

Yup, Mario Kart with the Wii Wheel was announced at E3 I think. I'm not hugely into mariokart, though, as they never really change it anymore, you just get the same old regurgitated tracks and a new weapon or racer or two.
I'm interested to see if developers do anything interesting wih the Balance Board, it has the potential for some great games if someone takes advantage of it.
Still, I have to agree with you talking about mostly party games. For those that missed quite a few games last gen, it's not so bad (Resident Evil 4, heaps of PS2 ports with a few extras) but it's not so bright otherwise. Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, Distaster DOC, No More Heroes, Super Mario Galaxy. That's about it for decent single player games - it's not bad but it's also not much choice.

Cool I guess, but what about some characters made by Square? I think Sora would be a great fit.

True that.
I just can't wait to play as Snake and Ike. Frickin' awesome!
Master Chief would be pretty awesome too.
Imagine, four Master Chiefs going at it. Cool.:D
ACK! forgot about the second page.
I'd rather have Cloud or Squall.
Though Cloud, being the most famous FF Character, would most likely get the part.

You can be Dark Link now, thats badass.
I would like Squall more than Cloud.

Dark Link?? Awesome....
Think about it though, almost everone who's a fan of FF knows Cloud.
Fewer people have played FFVIII, and know little of Squall. #'s are still high, but higher for Cloud.
Not only that, but Cloud is FF's #1 badass. And more people will be attracted to Brawl because of this, its simple marketing man.;)
We can only hope though.

It would be a good idea for marketing, but Cloud has been used in so much crap & I think Squall would be better suited for SSBB, plus, we have already seen Cloud in some badass fight sequences in FFVII: AC, So I would still rather have Squall.
For now I am content with Snake.

I highly doubt they would put Kratos in a SSB game.

Oct 12 2007, 06:37 PM
Yeah, a bit too brutal for SB.
Though its true that Squall would probably be more suitable.
Don't want a huge sword being swung in a game like this.

No doubt, mate.
Would be cool though. Or, he could be one of those near-impossible to unlock characters, but Squall would be more appropriate.
Sora, as said earlier, wouldn't be so bad either.

I am really glad that they used Sonic though, I used to love plying that game on the Dreamcast.:P
