Shin is the capital to the Freedom Power Rebels. The buildings are more modest than those in the Gureino Government. It is a small city with a decent sized population. The buildings are spaced out, giving the owners a sizable amount of land.
Shin is characterized by mountains and flatlands. South of Shin is the Ador Mountain Range, which is rumored to be filled with wild life, tame and wild.
(Description sucks I know. <_<)

'It has been such a long time.' Trenna Naysmithe thought to herself as she headed up a dusty path. A wooden pole clicked on the ground every now and then. She was alone, no friends to accompany her on this trip back to her father's house.
Reaching the door, Trenna took a deep breath and carefully pushed it open. Though she could not see, she could still remember it. Old memories flooded back into her mind as she stepped into the first room.
Something rustled against the wall. Trenna jerked her head in the direction from where it came. "Who's there?" she called into to darkness. The rustling stopped. Trenna called again, "Who's there?" This time a little more firmer. She held the wooden pole up like a weapon.
A third time Trenna called out, "Tell me who you are." The rustling began again. Whoever or whatever was in the room was coming closer. Trenna clicked her tongue. The echo came back to her as a person, about 5' 11" with a metal pipe, to her right. Quickly she lashed out with her wooden pole. The person caught it just in time with the pipe.
"Who are you?" she demanded.
An unfamiliar deep voice answered, "Kaliam Mallik."

(It's obvious. I suck at beginnings.)
Trenna flung the pole out to her right, trying to disarm the intruder. "You're not welcome here. This is my house." she said coldly. Kaliam responded with a short laugh then said, "No one has lived in this house for 15 years."
Holding the pole in front of her, Trenna slowly unsheathed the sword hanging at her side. Raising it up so it was level with with Kaliam's neck, Trenna took a step closer. Her ears were now on high alert for the softest movement.
"I said you're not welcome here, so leave now and I won't be forced to fight you." she bargained. That only made Kaliam laugh more. "You think you can threaten me girl?"
Trenna only had a split second to defend herself, for Kaliam had unsheathed a hidden dagger at his side. He thrust it toward her abdomen. Trenna blocked by crossing her sword and pole before his dagger reached her stomach. Kaliam stepped back and jerked the dagger toward Trenna's shoulder. She quickly side-stepped, only to trip over a fallen piece of furniture.
Trenna cursed at herself for giving Kaliam a moment of weakness as she desperately thrust her sword upward. A grunt told Trenna she had hit her mark.
Kaliam staggered backward slightly. Trenna could hear his unbalanced footfalls. Taking this advantage, she thrust foward with the sword in her left hand. A cling of metal could be heard. Trenna swung the wooden pole up and hoped it would come into contact with Kaliam's head.
Kaliam thudded to the floor with a loud "thud." Trenna sheathed her sword. She found Kaliam's shoulders and dragged him outside the house. Shutting the door behind her, Trenna walked back down the dusty path to the street leading to the center of Shin.

Aelic and Kearn sat at the small table in the corner of the pub, closest to the door. The restaurant began to fill quickly as rain fell outside. People hurried about, seeking shelter.
Aelic drummed his fingers against the wooden surface of the small table. His head was propped up by his right hand. Kearn watched Aelic anxiously look outside for any sign of Trenna. Seeing his friend
silently worry, Kearn said, "She'll be fine."
Aelic turned his head and looked at Kearn. "She was supposed to be here an hour ago. Where is she?" Kearn shrugged. "I don't know." Kearn replied.
Aelic stood up and walked over toward the door. Kearn quickly got up and grabbed Aelic's arm, "Aelic, wait! We said we'd meet her here. So we should stay." Aelic, whose hand was turning the knob to the door, let go and sighed. "Alright, I'll wait. But only a little longer." Aelic walked back to the small table and plopped back down into his chair.

"Ah, great!" Trenna grumbled as a steady rain began to fall. She was sure she was on the street to the small pub. The rain, however, pounded doubt into her mind. Was it another block away or had she already passed it? Trenna was positive that Aelic or Kearn would be looking out the window, waiting for her to come into view. She kept on walking.
"Trenna!" Aelic called. A pair of hands gently grabbed Trenna's arm and pulled her toward the pub.
"Where have you been Trenna?" Aelic asked, sitting her down into an extra chair Kearn had pulled up for her.
" Leave 'er be Aelic, you sound like her mum." Kearn teased.
"Someone was at my house."
Aelic's eyes narrowed. "Who? No one's been to your house in fifteen years." he responded.
"I don't know. He said his name was Kaliam Mallick. Whoever that is..."
The pub door slammed shut as a large group of people left, Trenna guesses since the pub had gotten quieter.
"The rain's stopped. I say we leave as well." Kearn said. His chair scraped the floor as he pushed it back to get up. Trenna and Aelic both followed suit.

Aelic's cellphone rang.
"Hello?" he answered.
"Is this Aelic Vaithor?" a deep male voice asked. Aelic responded, "Yes, this is he. To whom am I speaking to?"
"I am Tegatus Rickards. I hear that you have fought for the Gureino Government in previous years. Is that correct?"
Trenna and Kearn both gave Aelic a quizzical look. Aelic ignored them.
"Yes I have. I was assigned to fight the rebels in Buline, Koral. But I do not wish to speak of it." he answered, ice lined his words as he recalled the battles he endured and the loss of his father.
"I do not wish for you to give me your testimony, Aelic Vaithor. No, I am asking if you would like to help with a military assault on Amethest. Would you be interested?"
Aelic thought about the offer. He liked the sound of it. Lips curved into a small smile, Aelic said, "What kind of attack sir?"
"Bomb the place."
