Babalon AD at the dollar theater. the movie just didn't seem to want me to like it. Every glimmer of promise was bogged down an overbearing blast of odd dialogue, weird pacing, choppy action cuts, and the most unsatisfying, abrupt, and question oozing end I've seen in a while.

Max Payne

It joins "Hitman" in the ranks of Video game movies that are almost to the point of being decent. I could've sworn the movie had 2-3 directors because the tone was uneven and the pace was bizarrogems.

The acting was fine (Best role Chris O'donnel has had in ages) but you didn't really care either way about most of the characters because most of them (aside from Max) didn't get much characterization.

It was entertaining and if you have some money to blow, go ahead, otherwise wait for a friend to rent it

You like what you like. Don't let people dog on you because you enjoy HSM...I mean I don't, but that doesn't mean it's not good, it means I don't like it, which means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

...however if you start enjoying Uwe Boll movies..

In other news: London

It's got Chris Evans, Jessica Biel, and Jason STathom. It's basically about a guy who ends up doing Coke in a bathroom ,at a party he wasn't invited to, with a stranger,
reminiscing about his ex-girlfriend who the party is being thrown for. Great stuff, it's really down to earth and the acting is all top notch

I saw HSM3 on Friday... Mostly because my sisters needed supervision, but it was significantly better than I would have thought. Though there were hordes of screaming, ten-year old Zac Efron fangirls at the theatre. In one part he did a mild pelvic thrust, and they all squealed and clapped. That was nothing compared to when he took off his shirt. Damn, that was the most animated crowd I've ever seen in my life. I thought I heard some sniffing when Zac sang Scream. It was an angsty song (haha, emo Zac) but it wasn't anything to cry over.
Over all, I give it an 8/10, as there were a few corny moments- like the last song, which was 'High School Musical'. Hee hee... They should have been ashamed of themselves.

All the die hard movies(aside from 2 which I didn't like that much) are awesome and part 4 is no exception. Bringing back old school stunts with just the right amount of cg influence was the right way to go.

In other news: The Air I Breath

it was one of those Crash like movies with 18 different stories that all link up to form a big sad one. The acting was all really good (Surprised to see Sarah Michelle Geller and Brandon Fraiser giving such outstanding performances) and the plot was good enough I guess, although it was wierd how it all came together. If you don't mind sad movies with little glimmers of hope than this would be ok for you

Transporter 2. Some people thought the movie was bad, but I loved it. Besides the stunt when Jason Statham jumps off a ramp in a car, flips upside down, and gets the bomb strapped to the bottom of his car hooked onto a crane somehow, and llands right side up just as the bomb explodes. The Dark Knight.

It's better than Batman Begins which was a awesome film. Heath Ledger definitely topped Jack Nicholson's performance as The Joker. Christian Bale is great as Batman again. Maggie Gyllenhall was definitely better than Kate Holmes.

Totally agree. Pixar's movies are waaaaay better.

I saw The Golden Compass for the second time. It's not that bad actually, but I don't consider the book a fantasy for childern. The movie instead is the classical Christmas Movie to see with al your family after dinner. I hate the fact that they cut the ending though. The one in the book was amazing. I can't understand why they had to do that horrible happy ending at all costs.

I usually don't post in this thread since it isn't my cup of tea but here goes.

Dororo- Live Action
there were no machine gun and cannon limbs. Full of fail. Actually it was pretty good and paced itself pretty well by having short condensed flashbacks and spending time on the demons that really matter. Maybe they could of used a little better budget looking at the fight with two of the demons. Dororo was much older than the manga/anime so I was expecting a sex scene, did not get that so I am disappointed. Still the lack of firearms in his body parts was a sad revelation I will have to live with.

Sword of the Stranger- Anime film.
I was waiting for Stranger for a while but for some reason never took the time to get it when it finally released. it was fantastic though and worth the wait. Reminded me why I only watch film length anime normally. Does not drag on and keeps me wanting more.

City of Lost Children (it has Ron Perlman in it! :D)

French surrealist film that was recommended to me but I kept forgetting to watch.

It was extremely fucking weird (bordering on incomprehensible at times) but at the same time fascinating and brilliantly creative.

I ended up liking it quite a bit. I give it a 7.5/10

Also:

Coraline

This movie was fucking incredible, both technically (for God's sake, see it in 3D!) and in terms of the characters/story/hand-crafted environments.
