I am very sorry if threads like this are all to common here, but I reallly need to share my thoughts.
First off, the obvious reason that most of you reading came to a conclusion with is that with FF being the series that it is, their is no way that SE will leave this game where it ended and trash their reputation as a top RPG maker. To many questions unanswered, to many chances to turn this story into an unforgettable trilogy, and legendary SE is not dumb enough to look past this.
Now, let me list off these reasons 1 by 1.
- Requiem of the Goddess, first off let me say I am far from soft and never has a little video game touched me like this DLC and Serahs death did. Literally, I almost feel sad to no end untill I receive closure. Toriyama knows this and without a doubt didn't just put To Be Continued at the end for DLC. Because Lightnings DLC was the last bit of DLC for this game. At the end of this DLC, and the touching/depressing scene where Serah tells Lightning that she doesn't care that she died, and has no regrets and to please never forget her and preserve the memory, Lightning crystalises herself to keep her promise. This is followed by a cutscene with the words "In The Distant Future" and Lightning stands in what looks Noel's homeland uncrystalised, this is enough proof that the story is not yet over.
- For anyone who received the Serah and Noel's message fragment will have realised how much these little fragments mean. Serah's message talks about her being in this dark place, with a discription like Valhallas although this might not be what shes talking about, she says she has no regrets and hope someone will take over what she started. This is obviously her future self talking from wherever she went after she had the vision and died. Hopefully her saying she hopes someone else takes over doesn't mean she wont come back, because it would kill me if she doesn't come back, even if its in a cheesy way. Noel's message actually says its his future self and hes warning himself of the touch trials ahead, most likely meaning Serah's heartbreaking death and the chaos of Valhalla being unleashed. The trials probably continue in FF-13 2.
Off-Topic Thoughts:
- I still cant get past Serah's death, please tell me I'm not the only one who feels terrible about it. - If your someone who doesnt like FF-XIII, its simple, don't comment. - I hope I got you thinking, please comment back with your thoughts.
-I hope you will forgive me for mispelling fantasy lol.
