Question about Hope (Spoilers)

For those who've finished the game, I've just reached Academia 500AF and Hope appears. How is he alive in the year 500AF??

I haven't finished the game yet so maybe my question is answered somewhere but I can't shake the feeling of something being wrong, hope you can shake it for me ;)

He says in Academia 4XX that he's gonna time travel again to Academia 500 to witness the rise of New Cocoon.

they used the time capsule to go to the year 500af like they did to get to 400af even know they said it broke they must of fixed it to 500af

Mmmm kind of fishy, somehow it doesn't compute. If they didn't address this issue on the Datalog or something like that I'll be upset, it's a loose string that isn't their modus operandi.

I think they adress it in the chapter. When you use the portal at the end of Academia 4XX Hope says something like "see you in 100 years". I don't remember when he explained everything but I'm sure he did. Meeting them in 500AF was part of the plan all along, it was not a surprise at all.

In, what, 10 AF they had the technology to bring themselves to 400 AF I think in 400 AF it would be even easier to either make or repair anything they made in 10 AF.

Doesn't seem fishy at all.

PLOT HOLE. Seriously though, that's a good question.

Well, it's just an alternate from the first version of 400 AF they visited. In fact, Academia 400AF assumes 1XAF happened from what I could see. 500AF is the future coming off of 4XXAF. I think the bigger plot hole is that you could still visit the original versions of the timeline when they didn't exist anymore and were essentially dead ends.

Just like 1X AF can lead to 400 AF. The timeline's already been changed, so they just call it 400AF but it follows 1X AF's timeline, not 10 AF's. If they called it 4XX they would have had to call 4XX with another name, so they just kept the X for the "fixed" timeline whenever fixing was needed. Just follow the path in the historia crux instead of looking at the names and it makes sense.

EDIT: ninja'd :aldo:. If I remember correctly it says in the game that alternate universes don't exist and when a timeline is fixed the old version just disappear. I think you can revisit unfixed timelines because otherwise you couldn't get the fragments/people complained about the lack of backtraciking so they made it able to revisit anything, but they don't really exist anymore, and that's why they're dead end in the historia crux. It's like paradox endings, it doesn't make sense for them to go there but they still show up in the historia crux.
