I did realize something on my second playthrough regarding Vanille's voice. There are certain times where her voice would be perfectly, yes, perfectly fine. But then there'll be parts where her voice pitch would be too high. (especially during Orphan's part, God, that was too much. :wtf: )

See, if really feel for Vanille in this case. Because it's like, in a way, I'm quite similar, a lot of people might find my normal disposition to be too cheery and almost annoying yet they become impressed when I express strong emotions like she does there.

Except for Vanille's voice never really bothered me...even though characters like that usually do annoy me (save for Rikku). and it's not Georgia's fault -- she clearly showed that she's capable of a more serious, emotional voice through that scene. Her cheery voice is what the director (and Square) wanted, so hate on them.


and part of why it may not bother me is because...I expect that sort of voice from a character like her.

this makes sense, but it hurts too much not to see Fang during a whole game, i'm o'kay not to see Vanille though. Oh. SE make some kind of an accident, pls, decrystallization is a complex process and i do believe it can go wrong.

I'm going to assume she doesn't decrystallize early in the game, but since her and Fang seem to have the ability to telepathically communicate to Lightning and friends, their consciousness might be stuck in another reality...like the world Lightning is in *shrug*

Who knows though. I figure the crystal system would change with the absence of Fal'cie...and since Barthandulus could decrystallize people, maybe Etro can do the same thing? and would Fang and Vanille returning to normal have any affect on the crystal support they created for Cocoon? DUN DUN DUN (not that anyone lives on that pile of shiz anymo)

if no one lives on coocon any more who are all those people in lake Bresha? remember episode zero said that only 1 3rd of cocoon was damaged so maybe half the people live there and half on Gran Pulse.

Oh, I do not know. I was just throwing that idea out there. I just had the feeling that Vanille (and perhaps Fang at the same time) will get decrystallized and she joins the main party to find the real cause of evil, which is whatever villian that may be. Purple Hair guy maybe.

I'm really excited. I thought Georgia was a perfect choice for Vanille and she did an amazing job. I didn't like those squeaks either but I can't blame her, that's what she was told to do. Same goes for the narration, MUCH better than Lightning's in the PAX trailer.

Definitely prefer Lightning to Vanille in every way. Not because Lightning is especially good, mind you; she's not. She's just not as offensive. Still, the fact that the role is 'very different' gives me enough reason to hope that she's either staying lifeless or she's undergone some sort of drastic change.

^ my thoughts exactly. You can always tell when people are simply reading and it really showed in ffxiii. I bet a lot of the actors probably never even saw a script before going in to record their lines.

Lightning is a better narrator than Vanille. I think both Vanille and Fang will return at the end of the game, similar to Tidus at the end of FFX. It wouldn't surprise me if the multiple endings involve bringing them back or not bringing them back.
