It did seem like an attempt just to make more money off of X (then again thats what they do nowadays) but I suppose it did appeal to some people. I only played it for 2 days so I never completed it. I couldn't get into the game mainly because of the awful storyline. The gameplay was actually okay though maybe a little too fast and it did get confusing. I heard a rumor ages ago that they were going to make a X3 which would follow Braska's story which would have been a much better idea I think. Less girl power, more explosions.

I mean I'm a girl I kinda like that girly stuff..I have to say that when I bought my PS2 (last year XD) I wante to play this one first and I played it until the third chapter but then I decided to delete the file and play it after I had finished FF X...
I have to admit that at first I really got crazy with Real Emotion I just loved it..but then after one week of listening to it over and over again I guess that I only like it cos...it was the first game I've ever seen on my PS2...
But back to topic....the characters were ok for me, and the story... not that bad...graphics (inside game) fine for me...music I didn't mind..
Battle system, fine for me i like trying out different battle systems :nod:
But what i really liked were the FMV I just loved them! until the ending XD...but I prefer the good ending really

Actually I find the battle system to be the best use of ATB system. Sped up it goes back with the casting time of magic like FFXI and IV while allowing characters to attack at the same time. It destroyed the soul of the job system though. Really destroyed it.

The game was boring, repetitive. The only reason I knew where I was going next was because I had a walkthrough next to me and was following it to a 'T'.

All the dungeons were long, boring, long and had dumb monsters. Most of them were just different coloured versions and there wasn't a tough boss (that you HAD to fight) in sight. Everything was avoidable. It's like it was made to be passed in the quickest time possible so if people put in the slightest bit of effort, it was overly-long and boring.

Oh and the Calm Lands was baaaaddd..... X(

The only reason I purchased it and actually played it till the end was because it was a sequel to FFX. Also I had gamefaqs as a reference and a guide to attaining the 100% complete ending. But to my surprise this game wasnt what I expected at all. lol Yuna went from a reserved and considerate woman to a somewhat sassy girly girl. Furthermore yes it was repetitive because the game basically consisted of dull and relentless side quests.

Overall the game was alright because I liked how the game presented some old characters, the poor Guado, the mysterious Yevon and showed how they progressed after the defeat of Sin. What I really disliked about the game were the cutscenes. Well the cutscenes were good but every time, it sounds like Yuna or someone is moaning or something. Over exaggerated voice acting. I hated it because sometimes my parents were right behind me. lol It happened to my friend and his Dad told him... "What the heck are you playing? Oh... whos that? And what the heck is she wearing?" Referring to Rikku.

I agree it wasn't quite up to par, I agree it shattered the whole point of FFX's ending, I agree that Square-Enix in a way "apologized" for creating a beautiful ending, and I agree that it shouldn't have ever been created.

However, it was created, and for what it's worth, I don't think it's as bad as everyone makes it out to be. I don't want to go too much into the specifics, but it has a fantastic battle system, some excellent new characters in Paine, Baralai, Gippal, and Lenne, one of the most incredible FMVs I've ever seen, like the 1000 Words concert, and when they're actually being serious, they pull out some good plot lines too [Shuyin/Lenne connection and the Crimson Squad back story]. It's just a shame that most of the really good stuff is optional, and unfortunately most of the good points are overshadowed by the Trio's Flower Power.

It didn't even feel like it had anything to do wtih FFx because it was all done wrongly for a sequel. After discovering that my PS3 can read through that scratch on the disk and finally got past chpater 1, it's been upgraded to "nah". It's a good game in itself, but pathetic as an FF. I thought Final Fantasy X-2 was very good. My only complaint with the game was that it was a little too short. When I seen the credits, I was a little dissapointed but great game nontheless!

Only thing I really HATED about the game was how they screwed up blitzball. It was just AWFUL.

Other then that, Great Story, Great Characters, Great Battle system. And awesome soundtrack!

First of all, I didn't liked that Yuna from an innocent religious girl as a Summoner, turned into a pop star, careless about everything and hunting spheres. That was what I didn't liked, I liked the FFX Yuna, but after that it made me hate her. How is possible for such a religious person to turn into a pop star so suddenly?

The story wasn't enough strong or epic. Yes alright, it was to find Tidus due of that sphere, but other stuff involved like Shuyun/Lenne and Vegnagun. At the very beginning I thought Shuyun would be Tidus and somehow he had another, I mean it would be more interesting and not someone else that looked like him. Then the rivals were stupid, like Le Blanc and their place being Guadosalam, jeez. Or then the whole fictions thing, with Baralai and hell.

The music was so random, even the battle victory music was random, where the beautiful FF theme melodies had went?
The only thing I enjoyed was the battle system, it was fast and easy to understand and generally the fights were easy. The only challenge was the Via Infinito, but not so good as the Dark Aeons.

Missions were damn annoying, it wasn't following a certain line of events, but you could do anything you wish, just going by the airship, such a failure.

The mini-games were bad too, even blitzball had turned lame, the X's one was way better and that coin game was too crap.

It was a deception for me. I must admit that I was really waiting for it but when it came out I didn't like it at all. With Yuna making a change in clothes and personality* and Rikku's return it felt that maybe it wasn't gonna be as good as the first one but hey it deserved an opportunity. But once I got it, it was really weird. Personally I didn't like the missions system. You had to look every nook and cranny to see how the whole story really ended. Also, I am a Girl, but I hate a game being so girlish like those based on Disney Movies (?) Well, either way, in my opinion and please forgive me those of you who liked it; this game didn't looked ** like a Final Fantasy Game (From the ones I've played so far: VII, VIII, IX, X & XII). Its nice to always give a fresh look to things but I just hope that they learn from this mistake and never do this again...or if they do not in a FF instalation (?)
