So he's not allowed to be in a mainstream title. If a character like this is, then they're not allowed to be the main character or anything like that. So all the BA's like Auron and Balthier get screwed.

I wish they stop giving male character leads hair like that.

XIV looks good, except for the incredibly bland races. It would be a lot more appealing if you could actually play a main unique character like this.

I dunno why everyone has this hatred of Nomura. He produces extremely feminine bishies, I'll give you that, and it's grown more and more grating. But his art is great, he's got definite talent. I guess it's opinion as to whether or not you like the style of the final designs on anything he makes, but I don't see how his skill can be denied.

Either way, I do like that th character actually looks like a man, and I think it's a little sick that I'm surprised by that. I just wish the races weren't so meh. Pointy eared human, human, short human, fetish-fulfilling human, beefy human. Something like the Bangaa or the Burmecians would have been very welcome.

I agree, there does seem to be a double standard regarding Nomura. Folks say he can't draw or his character designs suck, yet continue to enjoy the characters he pinned designs for. The irony I tell ya.

Sure Nomura's style might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the guy can draw damn good, period.

I think this is a lot of people's problem with him, and I wholeheartedly agree; I wanna see a man's man play the leading role in a Final Fantasy for once, rather than taking a back seat to a skinny bishy. I really love Nomura's art and probably always will, but it's impossible for me not to sympathize with those that are starting to hate him.

After watching some, I liked it, but I really wanted to like it a bit more. Because I do want to play this, however, nothing yet is making want to pay a monthly sub for it :/

That's the real kicker for me, too, is that this game- if I really really want to experience it to its fullest- is going to cost me a lot more in the long run than a console game. The footage looked good enough, and definitely graphically a step up from games like World of Warcraft. The gameplay is really going to be what wins or loses this for me; I want something streamlined, polished, and user-friendly. Of course, all of us are going to have to give it a chance when it first comes up; I've never seen an MMO that didn't start out on wobbly baby deer legs. Problems will abound upon release almost inevitably.
