Speculations about the Guys in Armor

Desi summed up it nicely enough. "Aliens" have been in a few FFs, so its not like it'd be anything new. And you can't possibly judge what would be out of place and what wouldn't considering we know close to nothing about this game.

Simply saying you don't think it will fit isn't saying much. If you don't fit, you should say why, and also be more specific about what it is you're talking about.

If you mean Fran won't fit, well, no shit. If you mean other races/species, well hate to break it to you but most, if not all Final Fantasies have difference races/species in them. What I think won't fit is if the game doesn't have other races or species. It'd be strange because most Final Fantasies have different species so it'd be untraditional (in my opinion). Plus with the kind of game it's turning out, I can see some "aliens" making an appearance, possibly. Why not? It may be closer to our time, but its still futuristic from what I can tell. Anything's a possibility at this point.

Why won't multiple intelligent races fit? I mean, having a game with only white people seems just fine to many. Having green burly beast called orcs don't make people go "huh?" if it is set in the middle ages. Just so you know, there were no orcs in the middle ages and there was more colors of people than just white. Saying something won't fit just because it is set in our time doesn't seem to actually flow.

I have to agree with Desi, there is no reason that I can concieve of why there wouldn't be other races other than humans. There aren't out of place at all, the game can be dark with a variety of races, so the idea that you can't have them is completely unfounded.

But I read in a scan that the game is based like..let's say like if it was Tokyo..or something like that XD so if it's based in something like our real world then it would be weird to see different races like Vieras^_^ but anyways they're cute:nod:

Cause I doubt all the characters will be Japanese.

No I'm not saying that they're going to be japanese! what I'm trying to say is that if the game is based in our present time and in a city that is like Japan then it'd be weird to have different races that's my point:blink:

I know that, but just cause it's based off the look of a city does not mean it will be like our world. Because then there wouldn't be a need for the crystal. If their world was like ours, I don't think there will be an absense of multiple races. And considering no one has made a strong argument that there won't be I don't think we should it will only be humans. Cause their will probably be monsters and summons, that alone destroys the idea of only humans.

But maybe different classes (races) have different abilities. Yes, they bleed the same color, but they are still different on the inside

Well......I guess you could. I am talking more about how they think chicks would be the mages and guys would be the brutes. I think in games where you can choose your sex they should do like they do in Oblivion. If you are a guy, you get a small bonus in strength and endurance most of the time, and is you are a chick you get agility or a willpower bonus...........

Now that we've finally gotten a new trailer, any specualations about the bad guys/guys in armor? I've been wanting to take this topic off hold. (sorry, wasnt' sure if I should edit the last post since it's been so long.)

The armors of the marauders look medieval european to me with the eyeslit on the headwear and the fine line design on the chest and shoulders. I can't get a screenshot off the avi trailer, but I saw the details at 00:31 sec of the CLOUDartbook trailer I downloaded here.

If I didn't misinterpretate, it would be an interesting combination between the medieval armors and the modern weapons = =;;.....

The prince, on the other hand, wearing the modernized combat boots and leather gloves with buckles, uses magic, teleportation and swords. Hmm....
