Hi all,
This is not a simple calculator that tells you how much EXP you have left to get to max level - this calculator will calculator how much organic/mechanical components that you need to reach maximum level and how to do so efficiently!

In addition, it will also tell you how much it will cost to use certain types of component, so you can experiment to upgrade more cost effectively.

I have included some "optimised" components to use for each different equipment, but many data is still missing, but I will fill them out as I continue to finalise this calculator.

The calculator is in simple excel format, don't worry about the macro, there isn't any. The spreadsheet is lock to prevent people from accidentally stuffing it up.

You can access the download from here (http://madwithsimon.blogspot.com/2010/04/final-fantasy-xiii-upgrade-calculator.html), donation is entirely voluntary, and your token of appreciation will go a long way.

Thanks!! :D

---------UPDATE [2011.03.15]----------

The file has been updated slightly and will now require a password.

If you leave a message at the blog, I'll provide you with the passoword.

Thanks! :)

Couldn't open it with Microsoft Works Spreadsheet something or another. Excel format it seems.. Could have been a different format for us without Excel, but a nice share nonetheless. :D

Jotti Scan: Nothing found.

Am I doing something wrong? How come the organic component is always Begrimed Claw and the mechanical is always Insulated Cabling?

Edit: Nvm, we have to enter that ourselves. I thought the program will choose the best combos

Hi there,
Yes you have to choose yourself, I'm in the process of developing so that it'll pick out the best components, but for freedom, it is left as it is now!

Hopefully you're finding it useful~

Sorry! But it's the easiest with EXCEL...you could try opening it with OpenOffice, but I can't guarantee you that it'd work...;)

Hey, that's very helpful, thanks for uploading that! You did a great job =)

Just one question,
for already half upgraded itens, i see that there's a tab to insert the number of xp each weapon/accessory has, but how to determine it's level? Otherwise it will calculate like it was still in level 1. Or am i doing something wrong?

Hi there, I'm glad you liked it!

To answer your question, the EXP shown is accumulative, so the level your weapon is on doesn't affect the EXP level (I think!!)...so you'll be alright to just to enter the EXP you have and it'll work out the remaining EXP you require to MAX.

With the bonus EXP level, it's a bit harder, say if you're on 1.5x, then you'll just use your organic component and upgrade 1 by 1 until you reach the bonus EXP level, and then you can follow the sequence!

Have fun upgrading!!!

It's designed to be used Excel Office 2007 or newer...I'm sorry! Open Office just don't have enough functionalities to make it work!

Thank you, at the time I posted the prior reply, I did not have 2007 installed on my new computer. I have since installed Excel 2007 so I can run other spreadsheets that are game related as well.

The file from the above link appears to either be corrupted or has been updated. Or it has a password added now? The current one is also 5kb larger then the older one.
As I do not have Excel 2007 on this computer I can not confirm how it opens in excel, I tried it in Open Office and Symphony and both show a blank page.

I have the file saved from last year and just tried it and it opens fine.

Slight update on the calculator and yeah, i put a password on it.

Password is available if people leave a comment requesting it!

Easier than asking for donations~
