FF7/8 on PSN

Just curious... this is a question for anyone who bought FF7 and/or FF8 off PSN.

Are they in any way remastered? As in cleaner-encoded FMVs and less compressed textures? Or is it a bog-standard PS1 CD dump?

Bog standard. In fact they look worse.

Well that sucks... I think I'll just rip my current PS1 copies and use ePSXe to apply some pretty shaders and smoothing.

I'm tempted to replay FFIX... it's my favourite FF.

Sprites and effects seem to come out okay it seems. Backgrounds and FMVs are horribly compressed though. Shame Square don't remaster these games...

I could have sworn I saw something official that claimed when FF7 came out it was going to be slightly remastered. I don't think they ended up doing it, obviously.

they're true to the original games because they're purely emulated.
no remastering.. unless you want to count the PS3s smoothing capability,
