View Full Version : SquareEnix Register A New Game

We learn today, that a new name was registered by squareEnix . The new title is to be called “The Last Remnant”, which means in French “the last vestige” or “the last remainder”. No other information is availble at this time therefore we still do not know which platform the game will be gracing.....

“The Last Remnant” ... reminds me of FF7AC. No spin offs plz. :nag:

Aren't Square supposed to be revealing a new Star Ocean game at the SE Party this month? Maybe 'The Last Remnant' is it's subtitle?

I dont believe the article because its not coming from Square. We may get some info on this at the S-E party next week.

Really? Star Ocean Till The End Of Time is one of my favorite RPG's of all time. It was just a good game all around. I really liked the battle system.

Is Tri-Ace involved? They made Till The End Of Time.

Game companies never do. Unless their MMORPG companies.

I don't know if Tri-Ace are involved but here's an article copied and pasted from IGN about the announcement of a new Star Ocean game:

US, April 26, 2007 - We were all set to recast the Square Enix Party 2007 event under the new name "Square Enix DS Fest 2007" when we checked Famitsu.com today and learned of a huge announcement set for the show. Square Enix will be holding its "Star Ocean Special Stage" on the morning of 5/12 where, the site reports, the company will unveil a new game in the Star Ocean franchise. Following a video clip and an introduction to the characters and voice actors, the group that's set to perform the theme song will hold a live performance.

It's possible that this announcement will be for a new DS Star Ocean, so we'll still be able to continue with our plans for the name change. On the other hand, the series has made its name on PlayStation hardware, so there's strong hope for a PS3 version.


It's interesting that they seem to think it'll be a DS game, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I bet they will make a DS game to link Till the End Of Time and the new one for PS3. You know, fill in the time gap.

Well, i'm really hoping this title will be a new FF7^-^ I would be sooo happy to see Cloud again in other story

i kinda thought at first sight of this that it was a spin-off.The word *remnant* is too familiar

remnant: a small part or portion that remains after the main part no longer exists

Could weel tie in with the sephiroth storyline.

That's a screenshot from the patent office. You can see that the owner of 'The Last Remnant' is indeed Square Enix...
