@Souly: You posted this on AdventChildren.net
Taken from http://www.forever-fantasy.net/index.php :
Either the staff at one of the world's biggest gaming websites has gone mad, or they know something we only dream of. For some reason, Final Fantasy VII's page at 1UP.com has a release date inside: January 1, 2008. I highly doubt the release date is real, but are 1UP.com hinting that we should expect a remake announcement soon?

I hope your not pulling my dick here.

Well, here's an update on this one from today:
1UP: Final Fantasy VII PS3 release date changed to November 1st
Last time Forever Fantasy reported about 1UP's Final Fantasy VII PlayStation 3 remake page they caused global chaos, but everyone knew the release date is not realistic, January 1. That's just too close!
This time, they checked and noticed the release date has changed to November 1, 2008. Now what that means? They are guessing (better say, hoping) 1UP have information about a remake in progress. Time will tell.

Meh, I still dont believe it. Just what kind of "inside information" do they have?

FFXIII wont be out untill next year, so even if this remake rumour turned out to be true, surely there's no way they'd release both games the same year? An FFVII remake would divert too much attention away from the massively expensive Fabula Nova Crystallis project.
I just wish Square would officially confirm or deny these rumours just so that either way, everyone can move on!

The thing is, they wont announce because they want us (fans) to speculate. Theres still plenty of time for a remake to be announced since we have another 10 years in the compilation.

There's another 10 years in the compilation? I thought it was a 10 year project from the date of FFVII's original release (1997). Which would mean this year is the final year. I could be wrong about that, though.
Or did you mean that we have another 10 years in the Fabula Nova Crystallis project?

the "we are going to continue making sequels to VII for ten years" was the announcement of AC i think.

Actually, that sounds about right. But surely they can't milk it for another 10 years? Haven't they done enough spin-off games already?? If they really are going to do a full remake of FFVII, I'd prefer it if they just got on with it, released it, and let that be an end to the whole 'Compilation of FFVII'.

Yeah there isnt anything left to do with FF7 apart from the remake is there? o_O
anyway that Tech demo is sweet, cloud looks so hawt in all those pixels but i dont believe this. They wouldnt give a release date before annocuning it.

I guess you didnt see the Dirge of Cerberus secret ending. Its plain obvious that another game in the FF7 compilation will come.
Square Enix president Yōichi Wada has announced that the Compilation will remain an active franchise until the twentieth anniversary of Final Fantasy VII's release
Theres the proof that FF7 will last until 2017.

Note, it takes Square about 2-3 years to develop a game. Will take longer now due to PS3. XIII complilation is only being done "fast" because its their "premiere" game on the PS3.
A "Graphical" update of FFVII would be pretty boring and wouldn't work. They need to do a full remake of that game including the battle system. Since AC, noone really wants the standard battle system. Everyone wants to use their characters like they were used in AC. Which is what their going for in XIII.

yh it does take ages to make a game. i dont know where i heard this but didnt ffxii take 4 years to make.correct me if im mistaken
and a graphical update of the game for ps3 wouldnt be enough compared to the graphics of other ps3 games

If they remake the game I'll be the happiest person in the world. But if they do remake it it's going to be on Playstation 3 because of the demo they had.

i had hopes before for the remake..........
but know i'v taken into account that this could be impossible because of all the projects nomura was working on already and still has to work on
how on earth will he find the time to make the remake?

Nomura and Kitase said that they would like to do a remake but it would take about 5 years. :/
They also said that since FF7 is backward-compatible, dont expect a remake. But dont they realize that FF7 is a rare game and its cost nearly 100 dollars just to get a new copy online? I wish Square would listen to the fans. >.<

I heard from someone who raid somewhere that there was no remake and never will be one because of all the other projects plus the demo that they had for the ps3 was just that the trailer was only to show the greatness of the graphics of the system. And how else do you show off the graphic greatness of a system then by remaking one of the greatest games bad graphics and besides do you think they woulda done a spoiler trailer for a new game that hasn't been released yet or even rumored about.

I've said this before. The game will eventually be remade but not fot a while. The compilation is said to last until 2017, that will give S-E plenty of time to make one.
