I think it's a case of extreme self-belief. Not arrogance, just a confidence in his own ability and the knowledge that not even a load of men with guns could make a scratch on him. Destroying all those people is most likely such an easy task for him that it wouldn't warrant any kind of emotional response - they are just flies to be swatted away.

that was weird really...............but after accounts of the 2nd trailer we've been told to expect a bloody game and with a high age rating e.g one trailer explanation said how storm twisted one of the soldiers arms with his axe....he kept twisting it back and back before breaking the arm off.

In POP, you turn into him after you get infected by the sands of time and the darkness corrodes the princes body until he cannot control the darkness and turns into this guy.:D

Here's what i think might happen in a situation SIMILAR, The heroine is a friend of Storm, and they often play together in the palace (where ever Storm lives). They are both there and manage to hide when the massacre takes place.
