Square Enix has registered "Dissidia" in the United States Patent and Trademark Office on April 6. The usual rumors are not late to come: French website Final Fantasy World claims "Dissidia" might be the 5th installment in the Fabula Nova Crystallis franchise because it is a Latin word. The Fabula Nova Crystallis franchise already includes Final Fantasy XIII, Versus XIII, Agito XIII and Haeresis XIII.

I did my own researched to validate the registration of "Dissidia" in the patent office by Square Enix and found out it's true. You can view the following screenshots to see for yourself:

Perhaps the New Title Announcement in the upcoming event, Square Enix Party 2007, will clear things up. Only time will tell.

What a ghey name, I hope it isnt real.

Edit:

I did some rearch and didnt find much xD I couldnt find the meaning of Dissidia, but the meaning of Disidia is "To lay in ruin". I thought that was pretty cool. :cunning:

Okay guys, I've looked into it and I've found the patent the screenshots are from.

http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=agpkbj.2.1

If you look it doesn't contain the words Final Fantasy or XIII on that page at all. If you look at the HAERESIS patent it does.

http://tess2.uspto.gov/bin/showfield?f=doc&state=agpkbj.3.3

In other words I don't think it's a XIII or Final Fantasy title :P

not necessarily..the patent for "Revenant Wings" didnt say "Final Fantasy" or "XII" anywhere either, and as we know it is a FF game..i cant find the actual patent, but im shure it doesnt because when the patent was filed, no one knew it was for a final fantasy game

Consider Dissidia 1) doesnt sound like the kind of Title SE would give out, and 2) its latin, point toard a Final Fantasy Dissidia XIII

then again, the Haeresis patent did have

"Mark Drawing Code (3) DESIGN PLUS WORDS, LETTERS, AND/OR NUMBERS"

and for this one it just has

"Mark Drawing Code (4) STANDARD CHARACTER MARK"

a significant indicator toards a different title..

in any case, well have to wait and see

After the failure of Final Fantasy: TSW and the success of Advent Children, I highly doubt Square Enix will want to create another movie that's not related to any of their released games.

My guess is that Dissidia is the new Square Enix MMORPG game for the PC and 360 (maybe PS3 too) that has been rumoured for some time now.
