Square-Enix executive Shinji Hashimoto has been talking with Japanese site Nikkei BP about the platforms for future Final Fantasy games. He's told the site that they have Final Fantasy XIII for the PS3, Crystal Chronicles for the Wii but there isn't any Final Fantasy titles planned for release on the Xbox 360.
This means that any rumor of FFXIII being ported to the Xbox 360 is completly unfounded and that no other unanounced titles in the Fabula Nova Compilation are being developed for the 360 so far. However the compilation is supposed to last 10 years so the performance of The Last Remnant could change their minds but FFXIII is staying exclusive.

The latest issue of LEVEL magazine contains a new interview with developers at Square-Enix about their latest games. Toriyama and Nomura were their to field questions about games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis project. There isn't anything new really in the interview that we haven't heard before but it's a good read. To read the full interview click, visit the Interviews section and view the bottom interview or read a brief summary of it below. We have to get something new soon.
Final Fantasy XIIILightning actually likes to call herself Lightning and her personality is completely different to Yuna's from FFX.
The theme of the game will switch between fantasy and futurism similar to FFVII. They also aim to mix new futuristic elements never seen in a game before. "FFXIII will truly define the term futurism. You've never seen anything like it."
The PS3 is proving to be an outstanding platform for the game and many features wouldn't be possible without it.
FFXIII's graphics will make the characters seem real, adding something emotional to the entire gaming experience.
Final Fantasy Versus XIIINomura has always wanted to take the series in a different direction but feared it would narrow the audience. With Versus he can achieve this.
Versus is based in the real world instead of a completely fantasy one.
The characters are designed to be someone you could meet in real life rather than someone who is fabricated. The locations and environment are also supposed to seem believable to someone in the real world.
He also says that none of his ideas would have been possible if he was still developing on the last generation and that the PS3's "technical possibilities have a great influence over the game design and in the end, the entire game experience."

An interview with Tetsuya Nomura has been published in the latest issue of Dengeki Playstation in Japan. We're having to rely on online translation so the transcripted portion of the interview we're looking at is extremely hard to make out. Unfortunately nothing new, just more waiting.
Nomura says he prefers to work on one project at a time which is why he is currently focusing on his mobile game, Monotone at this time. He says he isn't forgetting about Versus but just waiting until he has more free time to begin working on it. He also doesn't want to begin working on Versus quite yet because of the high specifications of the PS3. He wants to utilize all the technology the PS3 contains and produce the game that he envisioned which isn't possible at the moment.

Yoichi Wada, the president of Square-Enix was answering questions at the Square-Enix Finacial Briefing today in Tokyo. A question about the Final Fantasy XIII release date was brought up and this was the answer Wada gave.
"It will still take a bit more time. At the very least, [a release] this fiscal year is definitely out of the question."
For those of you who don't know, the end of the fiscal year is March so a release date is only possible from then onwards. Nomura had already denied a 2007 release in an earlier interview and this only further confirms it. Lets hope we hear more on a release date at this years E3 in July.

Eurogamer interviewer, Simon Parkin managed to catch some time with Tetsuya Nomura and ask some questions about Final Fantasy Versus XIII a few hours after the Square-Enix Party.
Interview - Final Fantasy Versus XIII // Eurogamer The interviewer began by asking how will Versus have a darker setting than other instalments in the series and after some miscommunication Nomura answered that the game won't be set in a fantasy world but one more like ours today with "all of this world's ugly issues". He continues to say, "It will focus around current world events - in that sense it's darker." We already know from Jump Festa trailer analysis' that the protagonist's country is involved in a Cold War which is possibly one way he is relating it to this world.
Nomura said he has chosen the dark theme because he's only worked on light settings previously but he has wanted to work on a game with a bleaker setting. Eurogamer then go onto ask more about details of the game mechanics and Nomura answers with the Kingdom Hearts comparison we've heard before. He also mentions that a lot of attention is being given to the Third Person perspective which could be referring to what he mentioned in a previous interview about the camera angle changing when each independent weapon is equipped. The actual development of the game on new technology according to Nomura allows them to create a much more seamless feel with a large field area and no loading times to interrupt the flow of the game.
Thanks Desi for finding the interview.

New additions to old trailers have been shown at the Closed mega theater and they include a new enemy in Versus XIII and a full shot of Mr 33 cm. The new enemy is a white cloaked female or another girly guy. “She” uses magic in battle against the Versus guy and the trailer ends in a cliffhanger with his swords around “her” and a magic barrier engulfing him. We already have a fanart of Mr. 33 cm and our new nemesis from Maiki off Live Journal.

There are currently about 38,000 people at the Party with many of them taking the 120 minute wait to get into the Closed Mega Theatre. Each FFXIII game has a trailer in the theater but according to Gemaga, there isn't any new footage for any of the games since the Jump Festa trailers.
The FFXIII trailer contained the same footage of the blond guy appearing with his bike transforming into Shiva and the Versus trailer had the same footage of the fight between the protagonist and the soldiers with him teleporting to avoid rocket fire.
It's unclear from the translation but it sounds like some ingame footage of Agito was cut into the already existing trailer which was described as better graphics than the PS1. For a mobile game that would be extremely impressive so could this confirm the game going onto the next generation of 4G phones?
