At Square Enix’s 1st Production Department Premiere, a trailer was shown detailing the mythology behind the Fabula Nova Crystallis Projects. Not long after, Yoshinori Kitase came on stage and spoke about that same mythology saying that 4 or 5 years prior to Final Fantasy XIII being made, this mythology was put in place and allows the creators of each game in the series to freely interpret and present the base mythology.
He then went on to formally announce Final Fantasy XIII-2 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game will be worked on for both consoles simultaneously and it will be released later this year. Motomu Toriyama will be directing once again.
