2006 was a simpler time when exclusives were exclusive and the idea of Final Fantasy XIII appearing on Xbox 360 was ludicrous. In 2008, Square’s promise that Final Fantasy XIII would be exclusive to Playstation 3 was shattered when they revealed that the game would also be appearing on Xbox 360. There were tears for some, suicides for others but there was a last flicker of hope for the nearly extinct “console exclusive” when it was announced that Japan would be exclusively getting the PS3 version. Those days are now over.
Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIII will finally be coming to Japanese shelves with a couple of extras the original release didn’t include. The new edition will include the English voices as well as a new “Easy Mode” (It was hard?). It will also be priced at ¥4,980 which is half of the cost of the PS3 version. The game, now known as “Final Fantasy XIII Ultimate Hits International” will be released December 16th, almost exactly a year after the PS3 version.Related posts:
